Modelling and standardization

Illustrating complexity

Kart

Modelling is a valuable way of describing data -and business structures in processes without using concepts and terms that require high computer technical skills. The models are illustrations and often linked to specifications and guidance in documents that form the basis for activities and/or projects in the business. We have experience in various projects where we have provided advice, guided, and specified documents, including both data -and business models. We model according to well-known standards, frameworks, and languages.

Typical assignments we can take on:

  • Advisor in large- and small-scale modelling and standardisation projects

  • Guidance and preparation of data models according to standards that follow SOSI, OGC and ISO

  • Guidance and preparation of business models according to standards that follow TheOpenGroup and TOGAF

  • Discussion partner in processes where anchoring the understanding of modelling and standardization of geographical information in the business is a key success factor

  • Planning and designing large- and small-scale spatial data infrastructures (SDI) where standardisation and modelling are core activities

  • Writing tender documents, including specifications and business -and data models

  • Evaluate incoming offers and select suppliers

  • Be a project or portfolio manager
